Today I was buying groceries for my family and as I was just about to pay a man came up swiped his card and said “Let me get this for you”. A little confused and shocked on what was happening I looked at the cashier and she asked “do you know him?” I said “no”. His reply “Merry Christmas”. Still in shocked, all I could do was give him a hug and he walked away without another word!
I have been trying to explain to my 8 year old son that not everyone is as fortunate as others and that he should always be kind and do things for strangers. Everyday that I drop him off at school I remind him ‘do something special for someone today’. Luckily he was with me at the store today and saw exactly what I have been talking about!
Thank you for your kindness! And thank you for setting a great example!

You are so very welcome. I noticed you in the store a few times, I noticed how patient you were and how you took the opportunity to teach your boys about how to act properly in the store. You were kind and deliberate and patient. My Emma would have wanted to buy your groceries for you, it was one of her favorite things to do. thanks so much for sharing!
