I’ve had a tough weekend and have been extremely stressed going into a school with a tough week of exams. I’m studying engineering at Texas A&M, and it’s often that I lose touch of the small things in life that genuinely mean more than any degree can ultimately mean for me. As I was studying in Blue Baker (actually about to lose it because I couldn’t figure out an assignment), a young 4 year old girl comes up to me and hands me a “Fall Semester School Survival Kit” with gift cards, candy, pencils, tissues, post its, and every little thing I love to have to keep me happy! She spoke to me about her mommy and brother and I see her beautiful mom smile at me as I waved thank you. A hug from my new little friend and some sweet treats really show me how blessed I am to find a home away from home in College Station. Now i’m sitting here brainstorming what I want to do to make someone’s day just as this family did to mine!!!
