cardsThis week we called the homeless shelter in our area and asked – instead of just taking what was left on my shelves – what food they could use the most. It was interesting to hear their most common donations (canned pineapple and tuna fish) and hear what was most wanted. We found out that in terms of food they wanted only mixes that just took water, any canned food that had a pop top – especially canned low sodium beans, and canned meats that aren’t tuna; like canned chicken and beef….but not spam. We dropped them off with an Emma card :)

Then we heard about the girl who lost her family in a fire and was severely burned. All she wants for Christmas is cards which is so easy to do so we bought a bunch and plan on taking them to our church tonight for people to sign and mail tomorrow :)
