Hi there! I am a customer of yours and was truly touched by your story…and so very sorry for your loss. I am a 5th grade teacher in Rockaway, New Jersey and this is my 26th year of teaching. I always try to instill and inspire my students to always give back to others, to their community and tell them that sometimes it is just the little things that mean a lot. I read the book: Each Kindness by Jacqueline Woodward which focused on how you don’t know “the story” about everyone; and that it is important to be kind in whatever way you can. We decided to do a service project this year, entitled Bear Hugs for the Holidays! The students will volunteer and bring in a brand new stuffed animal( with the tags still attached) and once I collect all of the stuffed animals, the guidance counselor and I will be delivering them to the Children’s Hospital a few towns over (located in Morristown, NJ). The bears will be used for any child that may be having surgery or same day procedures or may need to stay in the hospital…they put a bear or stuffed animal in the child’s room and on their bed to help bring them some comfort. When I told my students about it…they were super excited to do this and I am hoping that they will learn to pay it forward and bring some more kindness to the world. I will keep you posted on how many bears we collect…in the past we have collected over 160 bears. Thank you for all you do! All the best to you and your family. Gina Loder
