Happy 17th Birthday to Emma! Several packages got mailed today with extra goodies in them, and then the kids and I went to Starbucks and bought a few gift cards to give out. We paid for the car behind us. We were headed to Target and as we drove past Chic Fil A I handed my card to the kid in the parking lot and asked him to buy someone dinner. Then we went to Target to grab our stuff and found a few moms with crying babies to give a card to. Then we stopped at Raising Cane’s and bought dinner for someone else. We watched her videos and I told the kids about her birthday. Summer was so excited to tell her Dad when he got home that today was Emma’s birthday. It was really sweet. Tristan often prays that she’ll come alive again.

I was thinking about how nice strangers can be. Yesterday at Aldi’s I was grumpy because while I had a lot of change, I didn’t have any quarters to get a shopping cart. Some nice guy gave me a quarter and it really made my day. Today me and this girl were trying to load some chairs into my van and they got out of their car and loaded it for me. People are kind.
