My story isn’t as extravagant as the other acts of kindness done by others from this cause, but I did mine immediately after I received the “be kind” card. I was in line at Starbucks in the drive through, and when I pulled up to the window, the person in front of me already paid for my drink. The barista also handed me an Emma be kind card. I immediately paid for the person behind me, even though their total was three times more than what mine was. I think it’s important to know that acts of kindness to exist in our fast-paced society, and sometimes we are so blinded by efficiency that we lose sight of what keeps us motivated and happy. Although I spent more financially on my trip to Starbucks today, I felt that the kindness I got out of it was more worth it than the drink itself.
