imageEmma saved 3 lives tonight. God bless this guardian angel! Let me explain…

In honor of Emma, earlier today I made a crockpot full of meatballs to deliver meals to the homeless in my area. Normally, there are 5 to 10 homeless people living under the overpasses near my home. I loaded up 5 meals with 10 meatballs each along with sodas and plastic silverwear and set out to deliver meals. It was dark outside, and I was a little nervous being a senior citizen by myself and hoping to approach homeless people. I searched for an hour under 6 overpasses and could not find one homeless person! I said a prayer for God to help me find someone to help to honor Emma’s memory. Then, I reluctantly turned for home, figuring I can reheat tomorrow and try again.

As I sat at an extremely busy intersection at the interstate feeder road, I noticed a stalled car in the right lane with dim flashers on. Obviously it had a dead battery and the emergency lights were so dim the car was barely visible. There was another car in front, trying to jump start the stalled car. As I sat at the red light I noticed shadows of three adults between the 2 cars. Then I heard massive brakes screeching, and 2 cars skidded sideways barely missing the stalled car. As I breathed a sigh of relief I said a quick prayer for the safety of these 2 women and the man helping them. A huge pickup came flying by me, going at least 50 mph and swerved at the last second, missing the stalled car by less than 3 or 4 inches! If he had hit the car, the 3 stranded motorists would have been killed, crushed between the 2 cars. More and more cars barely missed the car, so I put on my emergency flashers and pulled my suv a couple of car lengths behind their car. My flashers were bright and my car large, so I stayed there, protecting them as best I could. I got out of my car and explained to the lady that I was going to stay there to keep them from being hit. They were extremely grateful. After 45 minutes, they gave up trying to jumpstart the car and called a tow truck. I left after one woman’s husband pulled up in his large pickup to take my place protecting the hard to see stalled car.

God used me tonight to let these 2 moms, and a dad, return home to their children. It could have been a horrible tragedy… Thank you Emma! If it had not been for your story, I would never have been there to help. Emma was their guardian angel and I am so proud that God used me to honor Emma tonight.
